Born in Melbourne, Australia, Shaun entered early into a life of wine. Studying at the renowned Roseworthy Agricultural College in Australia developed his passion, leading to graduation as Dux of the Oenology class. A harvest in California in 1997 led to over a decade leading the winemaking, vineyard and facility departments at Clos Pegase Winery in the Napa Valley. He then completed the Sonoma State University MBA in Wine Business while also dividing his time between consulting projects for winemaking and winery equipment before joining Laffort USA full time in 2014.

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Laura is an enthusiastic advocate for East Coast wines. Her interest in food science and fermentation brought her to University of California Davis, where she graduated in 2013 with a degree in Viticulture and Enology and a minor in French Language. Following graduation, Laura spent the 2013 vintage at Domaine de l’Arlot in Premeaux-Prissey, Burgundy, as a laureate of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. From there, Laura continued to harvest-hop globally and domestically, with stints in Tennessee, California, Oregon, New Zealand, Australia, and New York. She ultimately found a home at Benmarl Winery in the Hudson River Region, New York, where she spent seven vintages as one of the winemakers. From hybrids to vinifera, and from entry level wines to ultra-premium brands, she finds something interesting in every wine. Laura excels at making wine knowledge accessible to everyone and is excited to help elevate the reputation of East Coast wines and be a resource for winemakers. When not troubleshooting tricky cellar situations, Laura enjoys hiking, biking, listening to the radio, donating blood, and exploring the Hudson Valley, where she calls home.

A part time job in coffee, a roommate that brewed beer and an encounter with a discouraging winemaker encouraged Boyd to pursue an education in Winemaking at UC Davis. And while the classroom studies were interesting it was the internships at wineries in California and Chile that convinced Boyd to pursue a career in wine. Boyd then spent 20 plus years in cellar, lab and winemaking roles at wineries large and not so large (Simi, Alexander Valley Vineyards and Gallo of Sonoma) before joining LAFFORT®.
In this newest role, Boyd draws on Laffort’s Research, Development and Technical expertise to help Winemakers find new ways to approach challenges and make wines people love.

Originally hailing from the great winemaking state of Wyoming, Lisa began her career in technical communication for the medical software, and rural electrification industries. A move to the Pacific Northwest, where she began helping at her uncle’s small vineyard and winemaking operation, prompted her to return to school to pursue enology. After graduating from Oregon State University, she moved progressively further south, making wine in Oregon, California, Arizona, and Australia before joining the LAFFORT® Team. In her free time, Lisa enjoys reading, and aerial circus arts.
